Allen David Broussard Catfish Creek Preserve State Park became a state park in 1991. This 8,000 acre preserve is an amazing experience. Catfish Creek is home to an ecosystem of animal and plant species found nowhere else in the world. Protected species such as the gopher tortoise, Florida scrub-jay, and American Bald Eagle call Catfish Creek their home.

Catfish Creek offers primitive camping for those needing to spend sometime away from city-life. There are two campsites available for reservation. Ponds within the park can be fished in. Geo-Caching is a fun activity for those who enjoy treasure hunts.

Hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, and wildlife viewing are some activities offered at Catfish Creek. No matter what you do at Catfish Creek, you'll be surrounded by rare animals and plants making your visit unique and memorable.
