Gator Creek Preserve

 Gator Creek Preserve
Gator Creek Preserve gives you the opportunity to explore cypress swamps, hardwood forests and marshes. The reserve has a series of adjoining loop trails, one of which is paved. The trails can be enjoyed on foot or on a bicycle. This preserve has six hiking trails all with different levels of difficulty. All trails are under 3 miles in length and some are paved while others are not.

There are also 3 natural communities to explore. The Cypress Dome Swamp which contains water at least part of the year, The Pine Flatwoods area which is dominated by pines such as longleaf and slash, and the Gator Creek Canal which contains remnants of Gator Creek.

There is plenty wildlife and birds in these ecosystems. This preserve also sprouts a variety of wildflowers during the spring months. Wildlife that may be observed includes deer, turkey, fox squirrels and gopher tortoises.
