Located in Northwestern Polk County, Hampton Tract has over 11,052 acres and many family friendly recreation opportunities. They range from hiking and fishing to camping and bicycling. It is also ADA accessible.

There are approximately 30 miles of multi use trails, during certain times of year prepare for the wet hiking trails. Fishing is available, contact Florida Fish and Wildlife for the license requirements.

Bicycling is a popular activity. Hampton Tract has around 30 miles of multi functional trails. The bicyclists are required to stay on the designated trails. Due to the Florida law, bicyclists that are under 16 years old are required to wear helmets.

The site does have picnic tables, fire rings and grills, however a free reservation is needed and must be shown or easily available at the campground. There is also a common area picnic shelter, but it can not be reserved. For restrooms and water there is an ADA accessible portable toilet.

Equestrian is also an opportunity. There are around 30 miles of multi use trails that riders are required to stay on, they are marked. It is mandatory for each rider to carry proof of the horse’s current negative Coggins test. Also due to the Florida law, equestrian riders under the age of 16 must wear helmets.

Horse drawn buggy riding requires a free day use reservation that gives access to the buggy behind locked gates.
