Lake Kissimmee State Park

 Lake Kissimmee State Park
Lake Kissimmee State Park is a great visit to learn about the early Florida history. This site was used during the Civil War to raise cattle. There are some days that the camp staff put on a demonstration to show how the camp functioned during the War times.

Nature and wildlife are big parts that the park has to offer. Often seen are white tailed deer, bald eagles, sand hill cranes, turkeys, bobcats, and more. You can hike about 13 mile trails to observe and study the plant and animal life.

Boating, canoeing, and fishing are allowed in the lakes. Contact Florida Fish and Wildlife for specific regulations and rules.

There are six miles of trails that are opened to horse back riders, any person under the age of 16 must wear a helmet. There is a large shaded picnic area with pavilions that are available.

The park has full facility campsites available as well as a primitive camping facility. There is a youth camping area that accommodates up to 50 people.

There is a fee for parking.
