Right in the heart of Mulberry, in the original railway station, you’ll find the Mulberry Phosphate Museum.
The self-guided tour takes you through train cars and buildings that house fossils and bones that were dug up from this area. Contained within the museum you'll find the Phosphate Gallery, the Historic Railroad Gallery and the Fossil Gallery, which has fossils of sea and land creatures like dolphins and rhinos.
They also have a lot of information on the mining industry and what they did to help restore the area. The best part is, you can dig for your own fossils in the Dragline Area. You are given a tool to dig for fossils and sharks teeth in a pile of unprocessed phosphate.
Admission to the museum is free or you can make a donation if you wish. Aside from the galleries, the museum also has special events throughout the year like like fossil celebrations, Shark week activities and S.T.E.A.M. Saturdays. The Phosphate Museum is closed on Sundays and Mondays with Saturday being the busiest day.
