Polk Museum of Art is a non-profit art organization in Lakeland, Florida, the museum was founded in 1966 and renamed in 1969. Exhibitions change every few weeks, but held within the museum's walls are its permanent collection, which comprises over 2,800 works of art. Polk Museum of Art has over 140,000 visitors annually.

While the exhibitions are amazing to view, Polk Museum of Art offers more than exhibitions, classes are also available. Some of the adult and teen classes available are oil painting, phoneography, pastel painting, digital photography, and more. These classes are meant for ages fifteen and up. Children can join in art camp, after school art, and art lab. Homeschool tours and lab access are available, and special needs classes.

If you aren’t interested in taking a class, then the museum offers plenty of other activities. Panels & lectures, coffee with artist, point of view gallery talks, tours, art lab, workshops, art film, and collection in focus are a few that are accessible. Shopping is also available at Polk Museum of Art. Stop in and purchase some paint supplies, books, art decor, and much more.

Located on the second floor is Penfield Library. Penfield Library is by appointment only and specializes in the collection of monographs and serials on art and history. Creativity, beauty, and education can be found at Polk Museum of Art.
