SUMICA Nature Preserve

 SUMICA Nature Preserve
There is plenty to do at Sumica Nature Preserve. There is a hiking/biking trail that is elevated and stabilized and provides a nice hike or ride to the observation dock at the trail's end. There is also a designated trail for horseback riding (may need permit).

This preserve is also great for photography. Take some photos of this beautiful landscape with interesting flora and fauna. Primitive camping is another fun activity at this preserve.

The campground comes equipped with a fire ring and a designated area in the oak trees for hammocks. There is no water or electricity, and you must bring your own tent. You must also obtain a special-use permit for this activity.

This preserve has a total of three trails. The hiking/biking trail — (2.1 miles roundtrip, No Shade) , The Equestrian Trail — (4.8 miles roundtrip, No Shade), and the Campsite Trail — (2.2 miles roundtrip, Some Shade)

One picnic shelter is located near the Lake Marion creek shoreline, available on a first come, first serve basis. Portable restrooms are available at the entrance. Paved parking is available.
